Humanity+ | We are LIVE | Robotaxi | Hypershell and MEETUP!

We’re living in an extraordinary time…

As I write this, I’m looking over Istanbul, once known as Constantinople. This city has stood as a bridge between Europe and Asia for thousands of years.

In some ways, this city is a bridge between different worlds, just as this period will be remembered throughout human history as a bridge between two different types of humanity. Homo Sapiens and Homo Technologicus… or Humanity and Humanity +.

This is an era of change and transition. A thousand years into the future, humanity will still remember this age, these 300 years of enlightenment and industrial revolutions, as the starting point of the next step in human evolution and development.

But everyone reading this is particularly lucky.

Each of you will have a significant chance of not just living the 80 years humans have been allotted for as long as we can remember, at least those of us who survived childhood (the leading cause for low average age in the past). Still, most of you will probably live to be hundreds of years old… alas, a topic for a future newsletter.

For the past 250 years, we have been upgrading our collective reality, consciousness, and intelligence at an accelerating pace. Technology itself started with tools, though, tools to leverage our abilities and increase our strength and efficiency.

In this newsletter, we will examine how the first consumer products are being launched to reinforce our physical abilities through exoskeletons, a clear sign again, just like Neuralink, of our transhuman future.

Many of us are part of the final stage of this figurative rocket, propelling humanity literally into space and propelling forward our intelligence, consciousness, medical science and reality.

Humanity +

In this newsletter, we will show you more signs of this, starting with exploring how the Gartner Hype Cycle, a staple in the analysis of the rise and fall of technological advancement and its economic impact, has been broken by AI.

We’ll also examine how Tesla (FSD) is about to disrupt the transportation and automotive industries again.

We also have some other cool stuff, like Udio, Hypershell, and some extra incredible tips for using Perplexity and ChatGPT.

But most importantly, if you check nothing else this week, check out our Event Announcement!

Innovation Network is all about co-creation and collaboration. To enable this we do not just invite you to contribute to our newsletter, we will also organise many events to connect our minds and efforts!

The first one is planned for the 13th of May! So mark that day in your calendar!

Read on to find out more.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the innovation letter!

LETS MEET!

SIGN UP for our first meet-up! On Monday, May 13th, we’ll have our very first Innovation Network Face 2 Face Meetup!

This get-together is open to all members of the Innovation Network. We like to bring you all together to get to know each other. The agenda for the day is straightforward:

16:00 Opening & Welcome
16:30 Panel discussions with all of us in round tables
18:30 Closing drinks

This will be a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other and discuss various topics, from the far future of technology to projects that keep us awake today.

Where? High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. Hosted by our great friends from 3EALITY on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.

It’s all Just Hype.

In 1995, Jackie Fenn introduced the Gartner Hype Cycle, today traders, analysts, and executives globally consider Gartner’s Hype Cycles to be an absolute staple when it comes to understanding how Technology develops from novelty to commodity. However, there’s a problem. AI broke the Hype Cycle.

On the 2023 Hype Cycle for AI, Gartner analysts judged that Generative AI was at the peak of inflated expectations. The most competent analysts in the world expected that the hype around (Generative) AI would die down as we entered 2024.

Will Elon Musk Unveil Robotaxi’s in August?

Elon Musk just announced plans to unveil Tesla's much-anticipated Robotaxi on August 8. While specific details and images of the new autonomous vehicle remain under wraps, it is designed to be affordable and efficient, with an expected price tag of under $20,000. Notably, the Robotaxi will lack traditional controls like a steering wheel and pedals, emphasizing its fully autonomous nature.

We have been anticipating such advancements. Our experiences with Uber and Tesla’s self-driving vehicles have led us to envision a network of fully autonomous cars. This service promises substantial benefits: enhanced safety, the ability to transform commute time into productive or relaxing periods, and more efficient utilization of vehicles, which typically remain idle 95% of the time.

The introduction of Robotaxis is poised to significantly reshape urban planning and real estate (imagine the vast areas currently dedicated to parking) and revolutionize the automobile industry. It remains to be seen who will be the first to pivot effectively to robotics.

Despite widespread anticipation, the rapid advancement of this technology is striking, largely due to AI and machine learning innovations. Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, now at version 12.3.3, has made significant leaps from its predecessors. FSD 12 now autonomously learns by processing billions of video frames to mimic human driving behaviors. Elon Musk highlighted the system's intuitive learning capabilities, stating: “I mean, the wild thing about the end-to-end training is that it learns to read. It can read signs, but we never taught it to read… We never taught it what a car was or what a person was or a cyclist. It learned what all those things are, and what all the objects are on the road from video, just from watching videos. Just like humans.”

This move towards autonomous transportation represents not merely a technological shift but a potential revolution in how we live, work, and interact in our urban environments. More details are available here and here.

Are your Kids getting enough screen time?

Do you restrict their smartphone and tablet use?

Aragorn wrote an article about why you shouldn’t restrict that too much and should probably give them more time on those infernal devices! Ask yourself, how important will their ability to use these devices responsibly be in their life?

Dancing to Text-Prompted melodies with Udio

Just three months following Suno's debut, the music creation landscape is buzzing with the arrival of Udio, another AI-powered tool set to amplify the wave of innovative music generation. Suno and Udio both transform text descriptions into melodies, offering a playground of possibilities for musicians and hobbyists alike. Their functionality may be reminiscent, but each has its unique flair.

Suno boasts user-friendliness, perfect for those dipping their toes into AI-assisted composition. In contrast, Udio opens up a broader spectrum of instruments and styles, even venturing into the realm of stand-up comedy creation. With Udio, users gain nuanced control over their compositions, finessing elements like tempo, instrumentation, and mixing. This added flexibility paves the way for a hands-on experience and a refined end product.

Why not indulge in both platforms and discover which one truly resonates with your musical ambitions?

Hypershell Exoskelet Boosting Mobility

We recently discovered the Hypershell, a cutting-edge exoskeleton designed for outdoor adventurers. This all-terrain suit promises to enhance your physical capabilities, allowing you to explore new frontiers more easily.

Hypershell's focus on outdoor enthusiasts is clear. However, the potential applications of exoskeletons extend far beyond leisure activities. Imagine the possibilities for individuals with disabilities or senior citizens who could regain mobility and independence with this technology.

But the appeal doesn't stop there. For those who simply dream of feeling like Captain America, the Hypershell offers a superhuman boost to your running ability – all for a price tag of around €700.

Another step towards transhumanism.
