Hello lovely innovators and forward thinkers,
June was an action-packed month for the Innovation Network. We faced more innovations, which was to be expected with the exponential growth of intelligence and computing power. We had plenty of workshops, events and dinners and we just launched the Innovation Network on X, where we will post the latest innovations first and uncensored. Don’t forget to sign up there too: https://x.com/INN2046.
For this newsletter we have selected some of the most important things for you to keep an eye on, such as what is happening in audio computing. In our last newsletter we talked about audio inpainting. Who would have thought that would ever be a thing? And now we have V2A. What? Video to Audio! Upload a video and AI generates a soundtrack for it.
And what about an AI becoming a DJ? We’re not talking about smartlists on Spotify… No! New tools emerge that digest any selection of tracks, analyze them, and present them back in a real DJ mix.
All while video generation tools are getting better as well. We saw the light of Dream Machine from Luma and Runway version 3. Patrick put the latest in an article.
Exponential growth is all around us, and if you have a hard time seeing it, check out Aragorn’s latest article where he digs deep into the accelerating pace of change that brings amazing possibilities: living longer, living healthier (AI cancer treatments have started), living with superpowers, and allowing our imagination to run wilder than ever.
And last but not least, we had a fantastic first Innovation Dinner, so check out the video. The waitlist for the next one is open and guess what… the first 3 people are already on it! YEAH!!
Without further ado, enjoy this edition of the Innovation Newsletter!

5 Courses. 3X Tastebud Explosion. 2X Food for Thought. 1X The Secret Ingredient: Great Guests making Great Conversations
The first Innovation Dinner was a resounding success, reinforcing the importance of gathering to discuss significant topics. Bringing diverse minds together to discuss meaningful subjects, especially the rapid advancements in AI, can be incredibly inspiring.
The event was both enjoyable and intellectually stimulating. We were fortunate to have Gommaar (chef of Proeflokaal Katendrecht) prepare a delicious meal, but the real highlight was the conversation.
Philosophy has made a comeback. Ten years ago, questions about consciousness or the nature of reality might have seemed out of place at a social gathering. Today, they are central to discussions about AI's impact on our lives. Whether it's the potential for AI to revolutionize science or the possibility of communicating with animals, AI challenges our established beliefs and societal norms.
We may be entering a second Renaissance, a period of profound intellectual and cultural growth. This new era of questioning and innovation could be incredibly beneficial for humanity, helping us rethink and reshape our world for the better.
Exploring New Frontiers in Audio and Video with AI
Significant advancements are being made in audio and video technologies. One exciting development is the ability to generate audio from video (V2A). Yes that's right! AI can now create audio tracks that match the visuals of a video. While the technology is still in its early stages and not perfect, it shows great promise for the future. And it represents a significant step towards multimodal AI, enhancing the capability to create seamless and synchronized media content.
Additionally, Dream Machine by Luma is now publicly available, allowing users to create videos (although the high demand means longer wait times to view your videos). Also Runway 3.0 introduced a large update.

Tomorrowland will finally be Tomorrowland…
AI music generation has made incredible strides in the past year. For those of us in the thick of it, it already feels normal, but the progress made is nothing short of incredible. And it’s not stopping.
Music Festivals like Tomorrowland might soon become truly Futuristic…
We recently explored another interesting development in music production: AI-generated DJ mixes. DJ Studio has created a system where AI can automatically generate mixes, complete with transitions and build-ups. This innovation could be quite the helping hand for aspiring DJs by automating the entire mixing process.
Additionally, platforms like Suno now allow users to generate music by providing sound samples, showcasing the AI's ability to create diverse tracks based on input. This technology has led to a surge in AI-generated music on platforms like Spotify. Many artists are producing non-copyrighted tracks that can be used as background music on Twitch livestreams, creating a new revenue stream.
This shift in music creation raises questions about the future of the industry. While some worry about AI competition and the unfair use of their work for training AI, others are more optimistic by claiming live performances may become more valuable as unique experiences, distinguishing human-made music from AI-generated tracks. We have a poll going on LinkedIn about this and we’d love to hear your perspectives!
Moreover, this era provides unprecedented opportunities for artists to reach global audiences. Despite concerns about fair compensation from platforms like Spotify, musicians today have better chances to succeed through creative strategies like merchandise and live performances. Embracing AI tools for promotion and collaboration can help artists navigate this evolving landscape.

So, want to try your hand at it? Make your own tracks and share them with us on X!
You can’t compare Apple and Peers (pun intended). Or can you?
A dutch saying goes ‘You can’t compare Apples and Pears.’ And if you’re to believe the Fanbois, Apple is still in a league of it’s own, doing it’s own thing, playing by not playing.
But are they really? Or is Tim Cook just using a brilliant marketing team to hide the fact that he’s adrift? Might he have completely misunderstood the new Paradigm shift and where tech is going?
Apple recently announced they will not yet bring Apple Intelligence to European markets due to GDPR and AI legislation privacy compliance. This move means Europeans will miss out on a GPT-4o level AI assistant through Siri on their iPhone, while alternatives like ChatGPT with memory and Claude remain available via apps and the web!?
Apple's Vision Pro also faced criticism; contrary to initial beliefs about its high price strategy, the company's late development of a cheaper version suggests a market miscalculation. This reinforces the doubts around Tim Cook's leadership in VR, the Metaverse, and AI.
It is, to say the least, telling that the tech company most praised for it’s claims in regards to protecting privacy, and now the only company without any meaningful AI models of it’s own, is now also the company not entering European Markets, because they are afraid they cannot comply with the new AI legislation, meant to protect consumers and their privacy.
Cure Cancer and Live forever. AI in Medicine.
With all the continuing Hype around and development of Large-Language Model applications like ChatGPT, Luma Dream Machine, and DJ Studio it’s easy to completely lose track of the impact the current AI revolution is having on other industries and fields of science and technology.
Medicine for example is rapidly being revolutionized. Not only did AI help us find all 200.000.000 protein structures known to Nature just last year, opening up the possibility of thousands of new drugs against all kinds of disease, and afflictions. We’re now entering the age of custom made, personalized medication.
The UK is introducing groundbreaking Ai driven personalized vaccines targeting cancer cells. This marks a significant leap in medical science, with progress advancing at an unprecedented pace. Following recent breakthroughs in understanding protein structures, we now see the practical application of these vaccines, made possible through artificial intelligence.
These vaccines represent a new era in healthcare, where treatments are tailored to individual patients, increasing effectiveness and minimizing side effects. AI plays a crucial role in handling the complex data analysis and development processes that make individual-focused medicine a reality.
This development highlights the incredible potential of AI in transforming healthcare, showcasing how medical miracles are becoming increasingly common.
Have you tried Claude 3.5 Sonnet? Build whole Apps in seconds.
Technically Claude is a ChatGPT competitor, but Anthropic is really following their own path. Focussing on a different set of features, no voice, no speech, non custom versions. It’s newest sibling is incredible though. Claude 3.5 Sonnet lets you build working apps in seconds.
This weekend, we shared a remarkable post by Reuven Cohen about Anthropiq's latest AI upgrade. Reuven, a self-described "agentic engineer" has been pushing the boundaries of AI for development and programming. He's known for creating custom GPTs, turning them into agents, and linking them through tools like Zapier to perform complex tasks autonomously.
Reuven used Claude 3.5 at a party to recreate an app that developers had been working on for months. Within 60 seconds, the AI replicated the app, leaving the developers astounded. These weren't novices but rather experienced software developers, yet they were completely unaware of AI's current capabilities.
The rapid advancements we're witnessing were anticipated to be years away, yet here they are, revolutionizing the tech landscape much sooner. This instant app creation is a testament to the vast ocean of opportunities AI is opening, promising massive industry disruption and unprecedented innovation in the coming years.
The Myth of Diminishing Returns in AI
Critics often argue that exponential growth is unsustainable, pointing to diminishing returns in specific areas, such as the efficiency of large language models as data increases and other isolated metrics. However, this view is overly narrow and ignores the broader picture of technological progress.
They fail to recognize that while one aspect may experience diminishing returns, innovation in other areas continues to drive exponential growth. For instance, although we no longer double the number of transistors on a chip every 18 months, we still achieve significant computational advancements through new methods.
The argument against exponential growth often overlooks the interconnected nature of technological development. Think of a machine with many dials; when one reaches its limit, others can be adjusted to maintain overall progress. This holistic approach enables continuous breakthroughs, allowing us to overcome limitations in specific areas over time.
Historical skepticism towards exponential growth is not new. Daniel Burnham first noted the exponential nature of technological progress in 1910, but it wasn't widely accepted. Ray Kurzweil's "The Singularity Is Near" in 2003 faced similar dismissal. Today, despite living in an era where exponential advancements are evident, many still resist the idea.
We agree that while we may operate within a bubble of similar and deeper understanding, the evidence of exponential growth is all around us. As such it's crucial to share these insights and challenge these narrow perspectives that ignore the bigger picture. By doing so, we can better understand the scope of technological innovation and its potential to drive humanity’s future progress.
